Latest Updates from Our Project:

All The Eagles Have Left The Nest

Electricians!

A brief update to let you know that, according to our printer/fulfillment house, all packages have been shipped out, both domestic and foreign!

I'm told that you should begin receiving your books/trading cards/etc as soon as tomorrow. International shipments will, of course, take a little longer to arrive as they wing their way across various oceans.

I'm unhappy with this delay but, in the grand scheme, the original Switch project was two years late. This time, only a month so I guess the glass is half full in its own weird kind of way.

Please let us know when your books arrive and if you need further assistance, [email protected] is the place to go.

ALSO!

The campaign for Daybreak! #1-3 is currently 75% funded after a week. We're hoping to start working towards the stretch goals soon.  If you've been on the fence about joining the party, here's the link again:  DAYBREAK! #3 PARTY THIS WAY!!

PARTY!!

Can you guys keep a secret? We're planning on putting out a Switch/Daybreak crossover next year. I've had the story worked out for a while now but one thing at a time. But if you're into Electricia, it might be a good time to get caught up on Daybreak.

Spoiler Alert: someone is falling in love with someone they shouldn't in the upcoming crossover.

Thanks, gang. Appreciate you all.

Daybreak! #3, now live!

Electricians!

You may have already heard the exciting news but if not, please don't mind this quick note to inform you that  DAYBREAK! #3  is now live on Kickstarter!

A robust start to a campaign is fundamentally important to get on the good side of KS's algorithmic overlords. If you're planning on supporting Daybreak, please consider doing so early to help us stay near the top of Kickstarter's search results etc.

Plus, it helps to lower Tom Nguyen's blood pressure.

Thanks for your help and support. New Pain appreciates you!

Your pal,

Keith

 PS- HERE'S THAT LINK AGAIN!

BOOKS ARE IN!
about 1 year ago – Thu, Apr 20, 2023 at 07:48:42 AM

Electricians!

Very happy to report that the bound copies of The Switch: Electricia arrived at the printers yesterday!

The books are printed in house then sent out to be glued together somewhere else, then shipped back. It seems pretty complicated to me, like, how do they keep all the pages in order? But I guess they know what they're doing because it all looks pretty great!

Here's a quick video flip through the printer sent over. You can catch a little glimpse of the new sketchbook section in the back as well as the overall quality level of the printing.

SO, OBVIOUSLY...

The big question is when are you getting your books, trading cards and assorted comics? I'm told packages are already being put together and will be shipped out Monday or Tuesday of next week. I would expect it to take 7-10 days for domestic packages to reach their destination; longer for international and I'll update again to let everyone know that things are running smoothly.

AND FINALLY...

Variant cover by Joe St Pierre and Dash Martin

We feel comfortable enough with the fulfillment timeline of The Switch that we're going to launch the campaign for DAYBREAK! #3  early next week. The discounted "EARLY BIRD" tiers are limited and time sensitive; it's a good idea, if you're going to back the campaign, to sign up on the prelaunch page and get instant notification the moment the project springs to life.  We try to offer our previous backers an exclusive window on the discounts.

You can find the campaign page HERE if you want to click a button or two.

Thanks for your patience through this slight delay on The Switch, guys. It's very appreciated.

Your bestie,

Keith

PUTTING THE SWITCH TO BED
about 1 year ago – Thu, Apr 06, 2023 at 12:24:50 PM

Electricians!

Good news to share today, we received the (unbound) proof of The Switch: Electricia from our printer this afternoon!

Putting The Switch to bed, get it?

We're really please with the print quality of the interior pages, cover and spine of the book. Everything looks really clean and sharp so the thumbs up has been officially given to produce the print run and move to fulfillment. So stay tuned, I'll let you know when the packages are being sent out.

Oh, and we've added a UV coating to the cover to make it a little more special. It's our way of saying "sorry about the slight delay."

AND...

If any of our Switch fans are interested in trying out DAYBREAK!, the pre-launch page for the upcoming preorder campaign for the third issue is live. New backers will also be able to catch up with the first two issues through the campaign.

Why should you care? Because we always try to give our previous backers the first shot at the discounted reward tiers, which are only available for a limited amount of time.

Here's a look at the video which our beautiful genius, Robb Miller, created to resemble the opening credits of a TV show.

If you choose to  FOLLOW THE CAMPAIGN  you'll be notified the moment the festivities kick off.

AND DON'T FORGET...

Our good friend Karl Kesel's campaign for IMPOSSIBLE JONES AND AMERICAN A.N.G.E.L. , drawn by David Hahn, is entering it's final week.  Right now, the campaign is working to unlock a special cover by Madman's Mike Allred and I'll be honest: I WANT THIS COVER MYSELF!

I can't say enough good things about Karl's work; has he ever written a bad comic? I can't think of one either! But even more than his actual work, his career itself has made it easier for creators (like me) to crossover into other creative positions in the industry. Karl's proof of concept that people can actually do more than one thing when allowed, something the big companies often have little imagination in seeing for themselves.

And David Hahn ain't no slouch either.

So check out IMPOSSIBLE JONES. you'll be glad you did!

Thanks guys, more updates soon!

Quick update!
about 1 year ago – Wed, Mar 29, 2023 at 07:37:56 AM

Electricians!

Hope everyone is getting through the week nice and easy. Halfway to the weekend which, usually, just means two more days of work for those of us toiling in the comic book industry but don't worry. We love what we do so it's like we never actually work a day in our lives!

Wanted to give everyone a quick update after some communication from our printer yesterday. They've been waiting on a paper delivery which was scheduled to arrive yesterday or today, hence the delay in getting us a proof of the new edition. I'll check with them again today to be sure everything is now moving forward.

Everyone that knows me knows I live and die by the clock. My career has been built on meeting deadlines and I'm well known to drive my family crazy when it comes to running on time so believe me when I say it's KILLING me that it looks like fulfilling this project will slip into April, probably the 2nd week at this point to give time for a thorough proofing and full printing of the graphic novels, individual New Pain comics and trading cards. Really sorry, guys, but I hope at least you've all enjoyed thumbing through the digital copies while we wait.

Our next campaign for Daybreak #3 will be pushed back accordingly so this one can be fulfilled first.

I'll be in touch with more news as we have it. If anyone is interested, New Pain now has a YOUTUBE CHANNEL (youtube.com/@NewPainProductions, in case I goofed up the link) where you can get a first look at the video for the next Daybreak! campaign.

Our beloved pal Robb Miller did a great job building the video to fit the concept of the opening credits of a TV show. He's done a fantastic job on all the videos but this one in particular is my favorite. Check it out, smash that like button (as the kids say) and subscribe. We'll try to add some fun content as we go.

More soon.

Your pal,

Keith Champagne
